Personal Handheld Navigators
My Wife & I like watching some of the Gold and opal programs like Gold Rush, Aussie Gold Hunters & Outback opal hunters, and we are constantly amazed that people searching for gold or gemstones in the Aussie outback never seem to take a personal handheld GPS, or personal locator beacons with them when walking through Australia's outback. A GPS navigator is a must for bush walkers, or as the Kiwi's call it "trampers", 4wd enthusiasts plus gold and gem fossickers. The best product for safety is the Garmin Rino 750. It combines a 5 watt 2-way radio and colour GPS topographic mapping , so you can see where you are and you can track your way back to your car, home or base camp. You can also pair 2 or more Rino's so that you can see where your partner or friends are and they can see you. It makes so much sense to have GPS navigation and radio communications when you are in the bush. Hop out of your car mark a "waypoint" and off you go. You will be able to see the terrain around you naturally and also see what is on the other side of forests, mountains on your screen. No need for phone signal. How often do we hear about people going missing in the mountains or the outback ?.
