How Do Miniature Dachshund Work?
Products in our Miniature Dachshund range are chosen to do one job well and to keep your dog comfortable while they do it. Where a product applies a correction it runs through progressive levels, so your dog receives the minimum effective setting, and most carry safety cut-offs that pause after a set number of triggers in a short period, preventing overuse. DogMaster Trainers stocks automatic and remote-activated models wherever both are made, so the response can be tuned to your dog's temperament and environment.
Choosing from Our Range of Miniature Dachshund
The right choice depends on your dog's breed, size, sensitivity and the environment you live in. Apartment dwellers often do best with the gentler options in this range, which work without disturbing the neighbours. Owners of large, stubborn working breeds frequently find the stronger models more effective. For sensitive dogs or puppies over 6 months, start with the lowest setting and increase gradually. Our team is available 7 days a week to help you select the ideal product — call 1800 300 364 for personalised advice.
Buying Miniature Dachshund in Australia
What is recommended, and in some cases permitted, varies by state and territory, and some local councils have their own provisions that may affect your choice. Where a product falls under those rules, its product page says so, and gentler alternatives are stocked alongside it. We recommend consulting your state's animal welfare guidelines or speaking with our expert team before ordering. Every product on DogMaster Trainers meets Australian safety and quality standards.

Miniature Dachshund FAQs
Miniature Dachshunds are a small sensitive breed who can also be quite headstrong. A fully grown Miniature Dachshund generally weights around 4 to 5kg. They have 3 different coats which are short haired, wire haired and long haired. Thus Dogmaster Trainers recommend collars with exchangeable contact probes for Miniature Dachshund.
Miniature Dachshunds were originally bred for hunting. Their prey drive can be relatively strong. We do not recommend any ultrasonic or citronella spray collars/devices for them. These products may work to start with but when their hunting instinct kick in, they will just ignore ultrasonic and citronella distraction. We recommend a static correction collar for the Miniature Dachshund
Bark control collars
Num'axes Small Bark Collar
Num'axes Canicalm Small Dog bark control collar is one of the smallest rechargeable bark control collar. It suits most small barking dogs from 2.5kg in weight. This collar has built in Vibration Bark Detect Sensor. For long haired and wirehaired Miniature Dachshund, we recommend to trim the hair of the contact area so the probes have a good contact with the dog’s skin. The bark detect sensor also easier to activate when the dog barks.
Dogtra YS300 Bark Control Collar
Dogtra YS300 is a larger bark collar for dogs from 5kg in weight. It will suit a bigger size Dachshund. This collar has microphone bark detect sensor which is better for long and wirehaired Dachshund.
