Product Description

The Garmin Astro 430 is the new Australian Legal Garmin GPS dog tracking handheld device. It is compatible with Australian version T5 and T5 Mini GPS dog tracking collar. It can pair up to 20 dog collars and track them with maximum range of 7km. The new Astro 430 handheld gps unit features a vibrant 2.6 inch display, preloaded Topo lite Australia map, user replaceable battery, fully waterproof and fast 2.5 seconds dog location update rate. It also includes some useful apps to help with dog tracking and Hunting. The "Hunt Metrics" dog performance data to help analyse your dog's tracking patterns and behaviours, so you can train more effectively.

Astro 430 vs previous Astro 320, 220

The new Astro 430 has faster 2.5 seconds update rate which is almost twice faster than the previous models. It can also track up to 20 dogs where Astro 320 and 220 can only track up to 10 dogs. Astro 430 works with Garmin T5 collar which is a better collar than the DC series tracking collar. Astro 430 has built in wireless share feature which is compatible with DriveTrack 71/70 LMT Car GPS and Fenix 3, 5 watch. It means you can track your dog with a 7 inch big screen in the car as well as a convenient small watch while out in the field.

Astro 430 vs Alpha 100

The Astro 430 is a tracking only GPS handheld. It doesn't have built in radio transmitter for remote training like Alpha 100. It only work with T5 and T5 Mini collar. It will pair and track TT15 and TT15 Mini collar but won't be able to activate the static correction feature. The other main difference of Alpha 100 handheld and Astro 430 is the screen. While the Alpha 100 has a 3 inch touch screen and Astro 430 offers back to basic button operation for different users. The Astro 430 will have a longer range than Alpha 100 because it doesn't have the training module that requires communicating with the collar. The Astro 430 equips a longer antenna from factory.
