The FiDo Shock SS725RP electric fencing energizer is powered by external power. Simply plug the power supply cord into a standard all outlet. The open circuit output is between 700 and 900 volts AC. The amperage at short circuit conditions (maximum) is 6 to 10 milliamperes.

How an electric fence works

When an animal comes into contact with a electrically – charged fence, the animal’s body, then through the earth to the ground rod, and then up the ground wire to the ground terminal of the energizer. If the animal and the ground terminal of the energizer are not sufficiently ground due to an improperly installed ground rod or fence system, or if the animal is not grounded, then the path of electric shock cannot be completed and the animal will not feel the charge.

The SS-725RP energiser emits a CONTINUOUS low-level AC current output, delivering a mild shock which is not pleasant, but is usually well remembered. Due to the continous current it is especially important to display electric fence signs in visible areas to identify the electrified wire(s). Further to that, inform everyone, especially children, who might possibly come into contact with the electrically charged fence, about its location and operation. Instruct all persons how to disconnect the energiser in case of emergency.
